Adelaide Metro industrial action to continue tomorrow

Adelaide Metro rail workers will take industrial action again tomorrow in pursuit of a fair and reasonable pay deal from private rail operator Keolis Downer Adelaide (KDA).

Workers will stop work for two hours tomorrow (Wednesday 17 April 2024) from 4 pm to 6 pm.

Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) SA/NT Branch Secretary Darren Phillips today rail workers had been forced to escalate their industrial action due to KDA’s heavy-handed approach to negotiations.

“Workers never want to take industrial action like this, but they have been left with no other option to pursue their claim for a fair and reasonable pay rise.

“KDA has not come back to the negotiating table with a better offer, so unfortunately tomorrow’s industrial action planned will go ahead as planned.

“We know that KDA is out to extract as much profit from the people of South Australia as possible before services are returned to the State Government, but rail workers are united and determined to get a fair outcome from the Enterprise Agreement.”
