Industrial action on the Adelaide passenger rail network has been suspended after Keolis Downer Adelaide (KDA) tabled a revised offer on pay and conditions in negotiations today.

Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) SA/NT Branch Secretary Darren Phillips said the revised offer would now be put to members for their consideration.

“It’s taken a long time, but we’ve got to the point where we have a draft Enterprise Agreement that can be put to Adelaide Metro workers.

“The breakthrough came after RTBU members stood united and took a number of industrial actions -including overtime bans and stopping work.

“KDA management could see that workers were serious in their demands for better pay.

“Workers will now get an opportunity to vote for or against the proposed Agreement.

“All industrial action will be suspended until the outcome of the ballot is known – so there will not be any interruption to services for the Showdown between Port Adelaide and the Crows next Thursday.

“We thank all South Australians for their support and patience during these difficult negotiations.”

Mr Phillips said key elements of the offer tabled today included:

• A two-year deal - with a 5 per cent pay increase in Year 1, and a 4 per cent increase in Year 2, while maintaining conditions; and
• Backpay to 1 January 2024.
